Winemakers call Pinot Noir “The Holy Grail” of table wines. The flavours are delicate and it’s challenging to maintain them throughout the winemaking process. But when it happens .. oh boy!
There are numerous tales of South African Baboons crawling through miles of premium wine grapes and leaving them untouched until they come to the Pinot Noir.
Here in the Northern Pinot Belt, we see the same preference among raccoons and birds.

Harwood Estates is in the North Pinot Belt (along with many other Canadian Wineries). For years, we have politely deferred to the age-old Pinot Noir makers from far away places.

But it’s time to dispell the myth that premium Pinot Noir can only be grown someplace else
That’s an easy ploy on the part of older growing regions, but it isn’t going to work anymore.
Some County Pinots already exceed the world standard and many more are growqing right now.
In the end, your own senses will tell you what is true for you. And that’s the only truth. You are your most authoritative wine expert. So, let’s get starting with the PINOT SAFARI. All Pinot is not the same.
